Product
range
The product range manufactured includes:- vitamin C powder in sachets,
barley and wheat grass, shampoos, conditioners, bath products, liquid
soaps, body products, nutritional supplements, organic vegetable oils
(including omega flaxseed oil), omega spreads, marine (fish) oils, eucalyptus
and tea tree oils, food products such as nut spreads, tahini, apple
and pear juice concentrates, apple cider vinegar, mayonnaise and mustard.
Contract manufacturing of liquids is also performed.
Omega
Spread
For
many years nutritionists and doctors believed that polyunsaturated
fats (Omega-6) were beneficial in reducing cholesterol. This belief
resulted in a spate of polyunsaturated margarines. Research now
shows that we are consuming too much Omega-6 and that it is more
important to balance Omega-6 with Omega-3 in an equal ratio.
Melrose research showed that a balance could be achieved, whilst
at the same time reducing saturated fats to an absolute minimum.

Fresh Oils
Facts
abouts Fats & Oils
In
our commitment to health and the consumer, we do not stop at the manufacturing
and distribution of the highest quality certified organic, fresh unrefined
oils. We also aim to educate the user about fats and oils and where
possible, shed light on controversial nutritional
issues. John Finnegan (Author of The Facts about Fats) says:
-” Good quality oils need to be expellor-pressed at temperatures
below 45 degrees C and not solvent extracted. They should not be subjected
to high heat temperatures, to deodourising, bleaching, alkali refining
or winterising processes. They need to be produced by light and oxygen
excluding methods, bottled in containers that prevent the further exposure
to light which causes rancidity and where possible, they should be produced
from organically grown seed.“
Guaranteed
Fresh!
Melrose
Fresh Oils - your best guarantee of freshness, purity and quality. The
importance of the essential fatty acids in vegetable oil demands nothing
less.
Complete Food - More Flavour
Melrose Fresh Unrefined Oils have a more distinct flavour and aroma,
just like any other whole food which has not been denatured or processed.
If you are used to denatured, refined oils, it may take some time to
become accustomed to Fresh Unrefined Oils. Besides the nutritional benefits,
unrefined oils will impart extra aroma and flavour.
Education - The right oil for the right result
Melrose have oils for specific needs and uses. For instance, it is not
generally known that it is only in Extra Virgin and Virgin Olive Oil
that the antioxidant polyphenols and squalane are present. In “Pure”
and “Light” Olive oil, these natural ingredients have been
removed in the refining process. Always use Extra Virgin Olive Oil for
optimum health and always check the label and the chart which explains
why particular oils are best suited to your needs.

Melrose supplies
a choice of two Apple Cider Vinegars made from whole ripened apples:
our double strength Apple Cider Vinegar with 8 acetic acid and our Organic
Apple Cider Vinegar with 6% acetic acid.
Unlike commercial vinegars, our Apple Cider Vinegars are unpasteurised
and unfiltered in order to preserve nutritional value. Natural sediment
is the true sign of raw, unfiltered vinegar. (The sediment can be broken
up by shaking the bottle).
Apple Cider Vinegar contains pectin, trace minerals, potassium, beneficial
bacteria and enzymes. Commercial apple cider vinegar is filtered and
pasteurised which destroys any enzymes present. BENEFITS
Apple Cider Vinegar is rich in enzymes and potassium. Its acidic content
is the reason it acts as a germ fighter and is used in many foods as
a natural preservative against spoilage.
People with upset stomachs benefit from the extra help Apple Cider Vinegar
gives in digesting food. Whether this is because of the extra acidity
or help from enzymes is uncertain.
If poor digestion is occurring, your body has to call on other processes
and thus diverts energy from other activities. This is why some people
feel tired after a meal. Their bodies are having great difficulty digesting
what they have eaten and energy is being diverted.
If digestion is incomplete, the body becomes sluggish, leading the way
to an overweight condition, and lack of physical and mental energy.
INCOMPLETE DIGESTION
In order to break down fats, protein and carbohydrates, the body is
required to produce bile salts, enzymes and acids. If these processes
are inhibited, incomplete digestion occurs.
If symptoms of incomplete digestion occur, try the following strategy:
Before meals, sip a mixture of 2 teaspoons of Melrose Apple Cider Vinegar
in 1/4 glass of water.
There also seems to be a relationship between undigested food and arthritis
so in an unusual way Apple Cider Vinegar may help arthritic sufferers.
